Work Experience
Training, Placement & Support
The training offered in the catering, textiles and horticulture departments at The Grange introduces clients to a structured working day. Those who go on to external work placements can begin with confidence, knowing that they have learned the skills they need to be a valuable member of staff in an outside organisation.
We have a Work Experience Co-ordinator who researches and develops links with potential employers. The Co-ordinator's role is to support clients throughout the work experience process, helping them with CV and interviewing skills, organising informal visits to employers before the placements begin and then monitoring the placement at regular intervals once it has started.
Voluntary Work Experience
This provides valuable learning opportunities, sometimes becoming the stepping stone to paid employment.
Paid Employment
In recent years 12 people have achieved paid work with companies including local supermarkets, a garden centre and the Ye Olde Windsor Castle pub in Bookham.
