the Grange Centre

Job Opportunities

The Grange is an independent charity. It is small enough to still achieve a personal level of involvement for every member of the team. The management team and the Council of Management (Trustees) are committed to providing high quality services for clients with disabilities that are relevant to modern needs, and to being a progressive and caring employer.

Salary scales

These reflect qualifications, experience and responsibilities and are reviewed 1st April each year.

Holiday entitlement

The basic starts at 20 days per annum and rises by one day per year for the first five years plus Bank Holidays. Additional holiday allowance is given to staff who work weekends & anti-social hours and to those who are resident on site to allow for the disturbance factor. For part-time staff, holiday entitlement is pro-rata.

Pension scheme

There is a Stakeholder pension scheme available to all employees.

Facilities available to employees

Staff are encouraged to pursue personal advancement by developing their skills. NVQ training is offered in care and supported living and, where appropriate, the opportunity to undertake training courses in first level management. Internal promotions are favourably viewed.

Courses

A wide range of courses are held in-house on various aspects of disability and in such matters as Manual Handling, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety and Water Safety. Staff also attend external training, workshops and seminars e.g. First Aid.

Local accommodation for care staff

We have a limited amount of accommodation, which is available to staff rent free, and heat, light and water free, for better performance of their duties; salaries are adjusted accordingly.

Social Activities

The Grange has a busy calendar of events throughout the year which cover promoting the Centre as well as celebrating achievements. These involve staff, clients, friends and supporters.
