Supported Living is a journey towards independence. Our goal is to help you develop your skills so that you can live in your home with as much independence as possible. We offer a range of flats and bedsits with different packages – and most of these on our beautiful site in Bookham.
We see Supported Living as a step-by-step journey that starts with confidence building and moves towards decision-making and independent living. We take a person-centred approach and support you as you settle into a routine and set goals for yourself. These can be anything from ‘learn how to cook a healthy meal’ to ‘be responsible with money’.
At The Grange, you’re encouraged to make your own decisions about things that impact your life rather than have others decide for you.
Depending on your abilities and funding, you might get involved in the following activities: household tasks, healthy menu planning, shopping and cooking, personal care, taking medication and visiting your GP. You can also access our wide-ranging programme of Skills and Activities which includes work placements
Good communication is vital for your progress. We are a Makaton Centre of Excellence and have seen many people with little speech develop and communicate more.
The Grange is a friendly place with lots of activities and social life – from golf, boccia, drumming and trampolining to regular visits to a local sports club and a theatre group.
