VIP Awards Throughout the year, nominations for Grange ‘VIP Awards’ are collected up from staff, volunteers and family carers. They recognise colleagues who really live the values of The Grange each day, and go out of their way to deliver excellent services for the people we support. 25 nominees received certificates at a lunchtime ceremony this week, and the Employee Forum selected two of these to receive the overall VIP Awards for the quarter. The VIP Awards for this quarter go to Marion Chow (Fundraising Co-ordinator) and John Newman (Day Support Worker). Those that nominate are staff are encouraged to state reasons why they have made their nominations and choices; here are some examples, demonstrating the Grange's team ethos. John: 'A great, positive influence, always putting energy and fun into all he does, whether this is caring or drumming.' 'He makes a person feel valued, and is always willing to step in and help out at sessions using his extrovert energy and unique skill set.' 'A prime example of a Grange flexible player.' Marion: 'The face of The Grange’s 80th anniversary year, she created a very successful and colourful fete, largely single-handedly and much of it done in her own time, which reinforced our links with the local community and made for a memorable day out for everyone. She was everywhere on the day, resolving issues before anyone was aware of them, with calmness and professionalism.' 'Her organisation of the anniversary events has been done with energy, enthusiasm, passion and dedication. She is always graceful in dealing with unexpected incidents, and always smiling.' 'Her continued networking with the community brings not only funding to The Grange but also builds our reputation as a great Surrey charity.' Congratulations to John, Marion and all our other nominees. Staff and Family Carers can nominate by using the link VIP Award Nominations so go ahead and show your appreciation for a colleague or volunteer today.
