Aboriginal Dot Painting

The Aborigines were the first people to live in Australia.

This is the way they tell their stories and messages using painted dots and symbols.

The paintings use handprints, animals of Australia and symbols.

The traditional colours used were black, white, red and yellow, as they used natural rock pigments, sand and charcoal.
