About us

People with learning disabilities just want to live life to the full. Tim loves playing his music in the car as he goes off to day centre. Mary-Anne likes cooking and gardening and has amazed everyone by losing two stones in weight. Both of them just need someone to walk along beside them and support them with everyday living.

About the Role

Being a Support Worker is a bit like  being a life coach. We are looking for friendly, patient people to train as Support Workers. The aim is to help people live as independently as possible and to have a choice in life. You will work 1-2-1 with people and get to know their needs. You might find yourself helping with dinner, helping them make a shopping list or supporting them on a trip out or to a medical appointment.

Working at the Grange

Full-time employees may be required to provide sleep-in cover on a regular basis (2-3 times per month) for which you receive an additional payment of £45 per sleep-in. Part time work is also possible.

Your duties will include preparing meals, accompanying the people we support to appointments and events, general housekeeping amongst others.

We  provide you with a full programme of training so that you can progress in your career whether you are new to adult care work or already have experience.
