JOB TITLE: Household Care Support Worker

HOURS: Part time/flexible (to be negotiated)

SALARY: £16,832 to £17,852

About the Role

To provide support for people with learning disabilities in their own homes (on site and off), with a particular focus on building independence in the household cleaning and domestic care. 

  • Raising individual awareness of the importance and impact of a regular cleaning regime.
  • Supporting people living on and off site to clean their homes.
  • Ensuring refuse is properly disposed of, taking account of The Grange’s aspirations to reduce, re-use and recycle wherever possible.
  • Helping to ensure that the accommodation is secure.
  • Reporting maintenance issues which require attention by the Facilities Team, and assisting with minor maintenance (e.g. changing light bulbs, cleaning minor carpet stains).
  • Being fully informed about any individual’s physical or emotional difficulties, routines and special preferences before proposing changes.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Good household cleaning and care skills, including knowledge of appropriate cleaning materials and products to use
  • Adept at planning cleaning regimes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene
  • Good all-round understanding of healthy eating principles and practices
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working patterns.

Desirable

  • Experience of social care sector
  • Health and Social Care Qualification
