On this day in 1935, Miss Sweet (pioneering founder of The Grange) received correspondence from the Royal household to embroider linen for Queen Mary! The School of Stitchery and Lace, which eventually became known as The Grange, often worked with the Royal household to make bespoke dresses and lace design! Some of these letters, dresses and designs are stored in our Heritage Room.
