“My Name is Luke Tye. I am 37 years old. I have disabilities as a result of Meningitis.
Whilst a student at The Orpheus Centre in Godstone I developed a passion for song writing and performance. I have sung at Winchester Cathedral, Bagshot Park, Buckingham Palace and The Royal Albert Hall.
Working with places like Orpheus, and later Freewheelers and Extant, make me realise how important the performing arts are in helping disabled people develop confidence.
This confidence has led me to gain a place on the Board of Surrey Coalition for Disabled People, and I work with a range of community groups.”
