JOB TITLE: Senior Support Worker

HOURS: 37 hours per week, to include weekends and bank holidays

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Team Leader

SALARY: £18,872 to £19,892 (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Support Worker for our friendly Supported Living Service Onsite. You’ll be helping people with learning disabilities live as independently as they can. You need to be friendly and patient with a good sense of humour. You need a friendly nature and enjoy working with people and a flexibility to work shifts covering the hours 07.30 – 21.30, including weekends.

The main duties within this role include;

  • To shift lead in the absence of a Team Leader.
  • To liaise with external agencies as well as people’s families, carers and friends, developing a positive working relationship and ensuring effective communication is maintained.
  • To be involved in someone’s Health Action Plan; to support in managing the individual’s health needs, including accompanying on medical appointments.
  • To support in managing individuals lifestyle including laundry, personal care, shopping, food preparation, budgeting, maintaining any work experience or volunteer placements they might have, and social links.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or working towards it)
  • Ability to get on with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • A practical and flexible approach to work. 

Desirable

  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities
  • Ability to drive
