There is a huge amount of informal and organised social activity at The Grange – both onsite and in the community. Everyone can make friends and follow their interests – from something as simple as cards in the conservatory to trips to London and holidays abroad.
Making the most of our site
We have a beautiful site with our Victorian main house set in 8 acres of landscaped grounds. Bookham village is just a short walk away and many people train to travel by bus to Guildford, Epsom and Leatherhead.
Our main house is open for games and chat in the Conservatory and you can access the IT room too. Every Friday is Takeaway Night and there’s a swimming club and a cycling group as well as Bible study group or just visit a friend for a cup of tea. Our ballroom is perfect for parties and pantos. The Hallowe’en disco is a big event in the social calendar.
Trips and outings
If people request a trip to a football match, a rock concert or the Strictly Come Dancing tour, we do our best to make it happen.
Many trips take place as part of the skills training sessions we run – such as visits to museums, art galleries and workshops and gardens.
Sports and activities
Brenna is our dedicated Activities Coordinator, organising everything from trampolining to tennis, cycling to sailing.
She works closely with organisations such as Special Olympics, Superheroes triathlon, Cycling For All, Community Golf, Surrey Outdoor Learning and Mole Valley Council who provide excellent sport and fitness opportunities.
Every Tuesday a group go off to Swan’s Club at the local gym and leisure centre and we have our own pool on-site.
