Work experience
Work experience can be difficult to find for people with learning disabilities which is why we are proud to have placements with over 30 local employers.
Jo works at a nursery, Jody works in an office Jamie is a tour guide at Polesden Lacey National Trust property the same place where Sarah bakes scones for the cafe. Some people have even gone on to paid part-time work.
Our dedicated Employment Support Officer helps people find the right placement and supports them all the way. Some people want to travel to their placement independently: our dedicated skills support team can assist with facilitating that too.
Learn to Earn
We also deliver our ‘Learn to Earn’ programme which
offers support in how to increase your chances of work. This covers how
to dress, interview techniques, how to write your CV and how to apply for
jobs. It also offers the opportunity to have in-house work experience at
The Grange and also supports in finding an external placement.
