The Grange is a friendly and welcoming organisation supporting 114 people with moderate learning disabilities to achieve their potential and live an independent and fulfilling life.

We are a charity, a social enterprise and a housing association offering high-quality Supported Living and Residential Care services. We also support people living offsite. What makes us unique in Surrey is that we also offer a wide-ranging programme of Skills & Activities and Work Experience - all on the one site. This enables us to be very person-centred. If you need help with speech, we have it. Travel training? We've got it.  There’s also a great deal of social life, creativity, outings, holidays and fun.

"Our aim is to embody our values so that they’re not just words we say but words we live and breathe."

How we can help

Most people come to The Grange after college aged 18+ and you are welcome to visit long before you finish your studies. There is no upper age limit and no limit on how long you can stay with us.

People we support at The Grange include those with learning and physical disabilities, such as Down’s Syndrome, autism, severe epilepsy, Fragile X, restricted mobility and communication difficulties. You can either live in our accommodation or join us on a day-basis to access skills and activities sessions, depending on their needs. We can also support you in your own accommodation in the Bookham and Leatherhead area.

Our beautiful 8-acre site boasts a sensory garden, Victorian Walled garden, Horticulture centre and shop, Woodwork cabin, catering kitchen, hydrotherapy pool, Creative Arts & Textile studio, Karten CTEC Centre, Communications programme (including Makaton) and a healthy eating and fitness programme. We offer:

Moving towards independence

We are delighted whenever people with disabilities take steps towards greater independence and achieve their goals. Some have moved into their own independent living flats, others have found fulfilling volunteer jobs and work experience, and a few have part-time paid employment. Everyone makes friends and enjoys social life, outings and activities.

We are CQC rated as ‘Good and we are a Surrey Care Association Founder Subscriber. See our Annual Satisfaction Surveys where people we support and their family carers rate us highly.
