In Supported Living you have your own flat or bedsit for which you are responsible. Our Support Workers help you develop your skills so that you can live in your own home with as much independence as possible.
You are encouraged to make your own decisions about things that impact your life rather than have others decide for you.
Supported Living Onsite
We have over 40 flats and bedsits on our beautiful site in Bookham. Our support staff will help with day-to-day living skills and your key worker will help you set and achieve your personal goals – it might be ‘cook my own lunch’ or ‘learn to use the bus’. We use the Life Star tool to help you plan what you want to achieve.
The special thing about this service is that we have so many resources all on one site. We have experts in literacy and communication, travel training and work experience. There’s a therapy pool and a health and fitness programme, sessions on relationships and other life issues.
Supported Living Offsite
The offsite team can provide you with support in your home for as few or as many hours as you need, tailored to your lifestyle. This can be in a Grange property, a flat owned by a third party or even your family home.
Skills & Activities sessions and work experience
You can take part in a wide ranging programme of skills training and activities or we’ll help you go offsite to other activities such as drama, riding, dance or art. You might find yourself involved in a Grange mini business or trying a work experience placement.
Good communication is vital for your progress. We are a Makaton Centre of Excellence and have seen many people with little speech develop and communicate more effectively.
Sport and social life
The Grange is a friendly place with lots of activities and social life – from golf, boccia, drumming and trampolining to cycling, regular visits to a local sports club, holidays and concerts. Every year we hold the ‘Grange Has Got Talent’ show!
