Job title: Support Worker – Supported Living Off site

Hours:  32 hours a week (to include weekends, bank holidays)

Reporting to: Team Leader

Salary: £17,169 to £18,209 (dependent on experience and qualifications pro rata)


About us 

You might find yourself accompanying someone to a medical appointment, involving them in choosing healthy menus, supporting them to cook dinner or just talking to them about a problem.

The Offsite Team at The Grange supports people who live in the community to lead as independent lives as possible.  We support them in their homes in Bookham and Leatherhead to attend appointments, shopping and daily living skills.  Our offices are situated in Bookham High Street.

You do not need formal qualifications to be a Support Worker as we will provide full training and help you qualify for your Care Certificate. You need a friendly nature and flexibility to work in a shift, including some weekends.

Full-time employees provide sleep-in cover on a regular basis (2-3 times per month) for which you receive additional pay of £45 per sleep-in.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Good communication skills
  • A practical and flexible approach to work
  • Ability to get on with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Ability  to work on own and take initiative
  • Common sense approach
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to shifts and rotas
  • Administrative and IT skills
  • Ability to drive

Desirable

  • Experience of working with adults with learning difficulties
  • Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care
