About the role

You will take on all leadership responsibiities for a team of support workers delivering support to people with moderate learning disabilities. You will need excellent communication skills and will also need to deputise for the Registered Manager as necessary.

You will work within the parameters of 'Person Centred Care and Support' and ensure that this ethos carries through in everything that is performed under your direction. This will include the planning and management of the referral process for new residents.

You will be aware of all Safety and Compliance related issues and will need to adhere to all The Grange’s policies and procedures in this regard.

You will promote and ongoing Learning and Improvement culture for both your team and yourself. This area will include ongoing audits identifying areas of improvement for the team.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  1. A relevant professional qualification – e.g. appropriate Management Diploma or Social Work qualification specialising in Learning Disabilities (min equivalent Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care).
  2. Minimum of 2 years’ staff leadership experience in a relevant care setting within the past 5 years.
  3. A working knowledge of legislation relating to provision of care services
  4. You must be a 'fit' person within the meaning of the legislation including enhanced police clearance, physical and mental health clearance.

  Desirable

  1. Experience in the area of physical and/or learning disability.
